Lindsey Hill Counseling, LLC chose the motto “Create your path to happiness” in hopes of empowering clients of all ages to regain control of their lives and make changes necessary to reach their full potential.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Alabama as well as a Supervising Counselor. I graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and completed my Master of Arts in Community Counseling at The University of North Alabama. During graduate school, I was a member of Chi Sigma Iota, an international counseling honor society.
I began my counseling career working at a local outpatient substance abuse recovery program and then had the privilege of interning at the National Children’s Advocacy Center where I received specialized training in trauma-focused CBT. I transitioned to serve the community at The Mental Health Center of North Central Alabama where I provided individual and group counseling to children, adolescents and adults. I then embraced the opportunity to join a private practice, where I have professionally developed specialty areas while working in the Madison community for the last 7 years.
I pride myself in being a warm and encouraging yet direct therapist who prioritizes the client in every session. I utilize many different theories including CBT, TF-CBT, person-centered and solution focused therapy. In my opinion, an ideal counseling environment should be built with trust and rapport and focus on values of mutual respect and empathy towards one another. I believe that an effective therapeutic relationship is a team effort, where both counselor and client work together towards a positive change. Together, we can create the most appropriate plan of action to start you on the path of creating happiness and finding purpose in your life.
In my personal time, I enjoy spending time with friends and family at the lake, traveling to Auburn football games, and volunteering at my children’s school.
